Cortes by Dean Webb

This is a two-player (solo-adaptable) wargame covering the epic three-month siege of Tenochtitlan, the climactic battle for control of Mexico, fought in 1521 between the Spanish and their allies versus the Aztecs. One player steps into the role of conquistador Hernán Cortés Cortés, commanding the attacking force. The other player takes the place of Aztec Emperor Cuauhtemoc. Each large-size hex on the map represents 328 yards (300m) from side to opposite side. Each Spanish unit represents a gunboat and its crew, or 50-70 infantrymen, or 20 horsemen. Aztec and Spanish Indian-ally units each represent 200 elite “knights,” or masses of 4,000 regular warriors. Each turn represents anywhere from 30 minutes to several days, depending on the pace of events.  Playable in one sitting.
